On our way to Des Moines, Iowa; we stopped over night at Kamp Komfort in Carlock, Illinois which was right off interstate I74. Once we got checked in, we were escorted to our campsite and left to get settled.
The RV park was well taken care of, lots of adult trees with shade. There was a small camp store at the registration office, pool, and a dog walking area. As this was our first stop and we did not notice or check if there was a laundry facilities. The site we had was full hook up, they did not allow fires. It was a nice size for a private RV campground. The children enjoyed the pool while dinner was being made. After dinner we walked the dog in the designated dog walking areas we settled in for the night and watched some of the Olympics. As evening fell, off to the east we could see and watch a thunder storm develop over the wind turbines that were off in the distance.
Leeann and I spent some time watching the storm grow and watched the lighting in the storm. From where we stood, we could see the lighting in the storm clouds all the way down to the ground. She thought it was neat seeing something that we do not see very often in Cincinnati.
